description Torpedo Chess Overview
Torpedo Chess is a chess variant that changes the movement of pawns while leaving the other standard pieces and board in place. A pawn may advance two squares on any move, not only from its starting rank, provided the intervening squares are clear; en passant captures are correspondingly possible after such a move. The rule increases pawn mobility and changes opening and tactical patterns.
