Tutter

Tutter is a small, blue mouse who serves as one of the central characters in the preschool television series *Bear in the Big Blue House*. He lives in a tiny mouse hole in the kitchen of Bear's house. The series was created by Mitchell Kriegman and produced by the Jim Henson Company for the Disney Channel.

Tutter is known for being highly timid, cautious, and occasionally stubborn, often worrying about minor details despite being safe with Bear. Despite his anxieties, he is deeply loyal to his friends and loves cheese more than anything. His character often helps teach preschool viewers about overcoming fears, trying new things, and expressing emotions.

*Bear in the Big Blue House* premiered on the Disney Channel in 1997 and aired new episodes through 2006. It was a highly popular staple of the Playhouse Disney morning programming block. The show utilized advanced full-body puppetry to bring Bear and Tutter to life in an immersive set.

Tutter was primarily performed by legendary puppeteer Peter Linz throughout the show's run. Linz brought the character's nervous energy and distinct, high-pitched voice to life. He is also well known for his later work as the character Walter in the 2011 film *The Muppets*.
