Urophonius brachycentrus is a species of scorpion in the family Bothriuridae. It was described by Thorell in 1876 under the name Cercophonius brachycentrus and was later transferred to the genus Urophonius by Kraepelin in 1894. The species is endemic to Argentina, with records from several provinces, including Buenos Aires, Córdoba, La Pampa, Río Negro, San Juan, and Tucumán. It belongs to a group of Urophonius species associated with winter activity.
