Many dive operators use its shallower exterior sections for less experienced divers because the site is close to shore. Greater depth, current, overhead areas, and wreck penetration still require appropriate training and local guidance.

Decades underwater have covered the ship with coral and turned it into an artificial reef. Divers often look for barracuda, bumphead parrotfish, turtles, reef fish, and small creatures living among the encrusted metal.
