Voyagers!

"Voyagers!" is a science fiction series where a rogue time traveler named Phineas Bogg accidentally lands in the bedroom of a young orphan, Jeffrey Jones. The two are hurled through time, attempting to fix historical events that have gone wrong to ensure history proceeds as it should. They use a device called an Omni to track their historical anomalies.

Tragically, Jon-Erik Hexum, who played the lead character Phineas Bogg, died from an accidental, self-inflicted gunshot wound on the set of another television series in 1984. The accident occurred when he playfully pointed a prop gun loaded with blanks at his head. His death shocked Hollywood and led to much stricter safety protocols regarding firearms on film sets.

"Voyagers!" ran for a single season on NBC during the 1982-1983 television season, producing exactly 20 episodes. Despite its popularity among sci-fi fans, the show struggled in its time slot against the CBS news magazine "60 Minutes." It remains a beloved cult classic for its educational yet adventurous approach to history.

The character of 11-year-old Jeffrey Jones was played by actor Meeno Peluce. Peluce was already a well-known child actor at the time, having starred in the film "The Amityville Horror" and the TV series "Best of the West." He often acted as the brains of the operation, relying on his historical knowledge to guide Bogg.
