description Vyatka Overview

The Vyatka is a river in the eastern part of European Russia and a major right-bank tributary of the Kama. It is 1,314 kilometers long, rises in the northern part of Udmurtia, and flows through Kirov Oblast and Tatarstan before joining the Kama, which is part of the Volga basin. The city of Kirov was formerly known as Vyatka, taking its earlier name from the river.
