Walter Parratt

description Walter Parratt Overview

Sir Walter Parratt was an English organist, composer, teacher, and conductor who held the organist's post at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, from 1882 until his death in 1924. He also taught organ at the Royal College of Music and became Master of the Queen's Music in 1893, a title that became Master of the King's Music under Edward VII. Parratt was associated with performances of Bach's organ works and with the training of later British organists.
