Webbing clothes moth

description Webbing clothes moth Overview

Webbing clothes moth is the common name for Tineola bisselliella, a small tineid moth whose larvae damage fabrics and other animal-derived materials. The larvae digest keratin, a structural protein found in wool, fur, feathers, hair, and leather, and they make silken tunnels or patches while feeding. The species is widely distributed and is mainly an indoor pest of clothing, carpets, upholstery, and stored natural-fiber textiles; adult moths do not feed.
