Wilkins is an early Muppet character created by Jim Henson for a series of television advertisements for Wilkins Coffee beginning in 1957. The puppet was placed in short comic situations in which an opposing character was threatened or subjected to an absurd punishment for refusing to drink the product. The commercials are studied as examples of Henson's early advertising work and of the use of puppetry in televised product campaigns.
