description Yellow Pansy Overview

The yellow pansy, Junonia hierta, is a brush-footed butterfly in the family Nymphalidae, occurring across much of Africa and parts of southern Asia. Adults have yellow and dark brown or black wing patterns, with conspicuous eyespots and differences in coloration between the sexes. The species occupies open, sunny habitats, and its larvae feed on plants in the acanthus family, including species of Barleria.
