Downy Phlox (Phlox pilosa) is a herbaceous perennial wildflower native to the prairies and woodlands of central and eastern North America. It is characterized by its hairy stems and clusters of fragrant, five-petaled flowers that bloom in shades of pink, lavender, or white during the spring and early summer. The plant grows well in full sun to partial shade and is often used in native plant gardens to attract butterflies and bees.
