Henschke Hill of Grace

Hill of Grace is a highly sought-after single-vineyard Shiraz produced in the Eden Valley region of South Australia. It is widely considered one of the country's finest and most collectible wines.

The wine was first produced as a single-vineyard Shiraz in 1958 by Cyril Henschke. It predates many of Australia's other famous premium Shiraz labels.

The grapes are sourced from very old vines, some of which were planted in the 1860s using pre-phylloxera rootstock. These ancient, dry-grown vines produce incredibly low yields, resulting in highly concentrated fruit.

Unlike the warmer Barossa Valley floor directly below it, Eden Valley is a cooler, higher-altitude region. This cooler climate allows the grapes to ripen much slower, giving the wine its distinctive earthy character and elegant structure.
