The lowlands tree-kangaroo is a vulnerable Papua New Guinea species, described in 1936 and notable for inhabiting southern New Guinea lowland rainforest.

The ifola is a Papua New Guinea tree-kangaroo, described by Matschie in 1916 and now often treated as a species separate from Doria's tree-kangaroo.

Seri's tree-kangaroo is a montane New Guinea species, described by Flannery and Seri in 1990 and elevated from Doria's tree-kangaroo in 2005.
