Annie Stainer (1945-2025) was an English mime artist, clown, dancer, and teacher known for solo physical-theatre work. Her three related works, The Legend of Lilith, Moon, and Changing Woman, were later grouped as the Annie Stainer trilogy and explored myth, transformation, life cycles, and women’s archetypes. She also appeared in David Bowie’s 1972 “John, I’m Only Dancing” film and performed with him on stage.
