LensClear Optical Cast Acrylic

Optical-grade acrylic can serve as a lightweight protective window, but adding any sheet in front of a camera may introduce reflections, distortion, or reduced contrast. Camera applications require verified flatness, transmission, surface quality, and refractive-index specifications.

Standard optical acrylic naturally absorbs some ultraviolet wavelengths, but that does not make every sheet a calibrated UV-cut filter. Request a spectral-transmission chart if the lens or sensor requires protection at specific wavelengths.

Remove loose dust first, then use clean water, mild soap, and a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners, dry paper towels, and abrasive compounds unless they are specifically approved for optical acrylic.

Acrylic usually provides greater surface hardness and optical clarity, while polycarbonate offers much higher impact resistance. Acrylic suits controlled optical enclosures, whereas polycarbonate is often preferable where flying debris is the main hazard.
