Christopher Lasch

In his 1984 book "The Minimal Self," Lasch explored how contemporary society's obsession with personal survival and well-being led to a diminished sense of self. Lasch wrote extensively on family life, notably in his book "Haven in a Heartless World," where he analyzed the social forces undermining traditional family structures. He believed that the family was being stripped of its educational and protective functions by encroaching bureaucratic institutions.
