Nullarbor Plain

description Nullarbor Plain Overview

The Nullarbor Plain is a broad, flat limestone plateau extending across southern Australia between South Australia and Western Australia. Its name refers to the absence of trees, and the region is characterized by arid conditions, sparse vegetation, and extensive karst terrain shaped by the dissolution of limestone. The Trans-Australian Railway crosses the plain, including a 478-kilometre section widely described as the world's longest straight railway track.
