Exmoor National Park is a designated protected area situated in the southwestern English counties of Somerset and Devon. Officially designated in 1954, the park spans 267 square miles of varied terrain, including rolling moorland, deep wooded valleys, and a dramatic stretch of coastline along the Bristol Channel. It is notable for containing some of the highest sea cliffs in England, as well as diverse habitats that support native wildlife such as red deer and Exmoor ponies. The park is managed for conservation, public recreation, and the preservation of its rural heritage.
