Slobberhannes is a traditional German trick-taking card game. Its main feature is negative scoring, so players try to avoid taking particular tricks.
Why does Slobberhannes have negative scoring?
The scoring rewards avoidance rather than simply winning tricks. A player can therefore be harmed by collecting the wrong tricks, which changes normal trick-taking tactics.
Is Slobberhannes a team game?
The game is generally described as a traditional trick-taking game rather than a modern fixed-team format. Exact player and scoring rules can vary between regional descriptions.
What makes Slobberhannes different from ordinary trick-taking games?
In many trick-taking games, winning tricks is the main goal. Slobberhannes reverses that pressure by making selected tricks undesirable.
