116 Sirona is a main-belt asteroid discovered by Christian H. F. Peters in 1871. It is classified as an S-type asteroid, a category generally associated with silicate-rich rocky surfaces, and is therefore part of the stony population of the asteroid belt.

The name comes from Sirona, a Gallo-Roman goddess linked with healing and sacred springs whose worship is documented particularly along the Rhine.
