126 Velleda is a main-belt asteroid with an S-type spectrum, a classification associated with relatively silicate-rich, stony surfaces. French astronomer Paul Henry discovered it in Paris on 5 November 1872, and it was named for Veleda, a priestess or prophetess associated with the Germanic Bructeri. The asteroid is estimated at about 45 km across and completes an orbit around the Sun in roughly 1,391 days.
