description 158 Koronis Overview

158 Koronis is an S-type main-belt asteroid discovered by Russian astronomer Viktor Knorre on 4 January 1876 at the Berlin Observatory. Its name is also used for the Koronis family, a group of asteroids with related orbital and physical properties. Koronis itself is about 35 km in diameter, rotates in roughly 14.2 hours, and has a stony composition inferred from its spectrum.
