description Abraliopsis morisii Overview
Abraliopsis morisii is a small bioluminescent squid in the family Enoploteuthidae, described by Verany in 1839. It is widely distributed in tropical to warm-temperate waters of the eastern and western Atlantic, including the Gulf of Mexico and Mediterranean Sea, and reaches about 45 millimetres in mantle length. Its identification is aided by five photophores arranged along the underside of each eye and by integumental photophores scattered over the body.
