Leachia dislocata is a cranchiid glass squid described by Young in 1972 and accepted as a species of the genus Leachia. Its type locality is in the eastern North Pacific off southern California, and modern distribution accounts place it in the California Current, with records extending from about 45 degrees north to 25 degrees north and westward toward 160 degrees west. Juveniles are epipelagic, whereas older individuals occur at bathypelagic depths; its transparent body and unusual internal arrangement distinguish it from related glass squids.
