Agung fumaroles

description Agung fumaroles Overview

The Agung fumaroles are steam and volcanic-gas vents associated with Mount Agung on Bali, Indonesia. Mount Agung is a large stratovolcano and the highest point on Bali, and fumarolic activity reflects heat and gas movement within its volcanic system. The volcano produced a major eruption in 1963 that caused widespread destruction and killed more than a thousand people, while later eruptive activity, including episodes in 2017 and 2018, led to renewed monitoring and evacuations.
