Anatoly Lyadov (1855–1914) was a Russian composer, conductor, and music teacher who specialized in brief, evocative orchestral and piano miniatures. He taught at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, where his students included prominent musicians such as Sergei Prokofiev and Nikolai Myaskovsky. His most frequently performed works include the symphonic poems The Enchanted Lake, Kikimora, and Baba-Yaga, which reflect his interest in Russian folklore and fairy tales.

He also contributed to a famous collection of variations based on a theme by his teacher, Mily Balakirev.
