help Ballblazer FAQ

How do you score in Ballblazer?

Each player pilots a vehicle called a rotofoil and tries to drive or fire the ball through the opponent's goal. The goal moves across the end line, and the point value depends on how far away the scoring shot was taken.

Why does the camera keep snapping toward the ball in Ballblazer?

Each player's split-screen view automatically rotates to keep the ball in sight across the flat playing field. This makes orientation part of the challenge because the arena has no fixed left or right from the player's perspective.

What was Ballblazer called before release?

Lucasfilm Games originally developed it under the title Ballblaster. It circulated in that form before Epyx published the commercial version as Ballblazer in 1985.

Which systems can run the original Ballblazer?

The game was developed first for Atari 8-bit computers and was also released on systems including the Atari 5200, Commodore 64, Apple II, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, and MSX. A later Famicom and NES version was published in Japan and North America.
