description Bristolia Overview

Bristolia is an extinct genus of olenellid trilobites from the Early Cambrian of western North America. It is particularly associated with fossil-bearing strata in Nevada and California and is recognized by the long genal spines extending from the sides of its cephalon. The genus is used in work on early trilobite evolution and the regional biostratigraphy of Cambrian rocks.
