The Brown Spiketail, Cordulegaster bilineata, is a large dragonfly in the family Cordulegastridae native to eastern North America. Described in 1840, it is associated with clear, shaded streams and seepages in wooded landscapes, where its aquatic larvae develop in flowing water and sediment. Adults have the elongated body and strong, patrolling flight typical of spiketails and are chiefly encountered by observers near suitable woodland waterways.
