description Buckyballs Overview
Buckyballs is the name of a desk-toy set consisting of 216 small spherical rare-earth magnets, originally sold by Maxfield & Oberton. The magnets can be joined into chains, geometric forms, and other patterns, so the product is used for hands-on construction and manipulation rather than as a conventional board game. In 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall involving sets labeled for ages 13 and older because of the hazard posed if powerful loose magnets are swallowed.
