help Bust a Groove FAQ

How do dance battles work in Bust a Groove?

Players enter directional commands during the first three beats and press the required face button on the fourth. Successful timing builds increasingly elaborate dance combinations and shifts the camera's attention toward the better performer.

Can dancers attack each other in Bust a Groove?

Yes, every character has a Jammer attack that can interrupt an opponent's routine. A properly timed dodge makes the targeted dancer somersault away from it.

Why is Bust a Groove called Bust A Move in Japan?

Enix released the Japanese game as Bust A Move: Dance & Rhythm Action. The Western title changed because Taito's Puzzle Bobble series was already marketed as Bust-A-Move outside Japan.

Did Bust a Groove receive a sequel?

Bust a Groove 2 followed on PlayStation with new dancers and songs. A further game, Dance Summit 2001: Bust A Move, was released only in Japan for PlayStation 2.
