The Common Sanddragon (Progomphus obscurus) is a dragonfly in the family Gomphidae, native to North America. It is among the most widespread members of its genus, with a range extending across the eastern United States. Adults are medium-sized with brown and yellow coloration, and the male abdomen is slightly club-shaped toward the tip. The species is associated with sandy streams and rivers, where adults perch directly on sandbars and shorelines.

Females lay eggs by tapping the water surface, and larvae burrow in sandy substrates.
