Connecticut Sun

The Connecticut Sun is a professional women's basketball team competing in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Established in 1999 as the Orlando Miracle in Florida, the franchise relocated to Uncasville, Connecticut in 2003, becoming the first WNBA team to be owned by a Native American tribe when the Mohegan Tribe purchased and moved the team to play at the Mohegan Sun Arena. The Sun have made multiple playoff appearances in their history, reaching the WNBA Finals in 2004 and 2005, though they have not yet won a championship. The team's name and branding incorporate elements related to the Mohegan Sun casino and entertainment complex where they play their home games.
