Corona Borealis is a small constellation in the northern sky whose principal stars form a recognizable semicircular or crown-like pattern. It lies between the constellations Boötes and Hercules and includes Alphecca, also known as Alpha Coronae Borealis, as its brightest star. The constellation was included in the star catalogue associated with the Greek astronomer Ptolemy during the 2nd century and remains one of the established modern constellations.
