Crazy Pineapple

description Crazy Pineapple Overview

Crazy Pineapple is a community card poker variant derived from Texas hold 'em in which each player is dealt three hole cards instead of two. After the dealer reveals the flop (the first three community cards), every player must discard one of their hole cards. The hand then proceeds exactly like a standard Texas hold 'em game through the turn, river, and showdown. Because players have more information when making their discard, the game features stronger hands and more complex betting decisions than standard Pineapple or Hold 'em.

help Crazy Pineapple FAQ

When does a player discard in Crazy Pineapple poker?

Each player receives three hole cards, but must discard one after the flop is dealt. The hand then continues with two hole cards, like Texas hold'em.

How many hole cards do you receive in Crazy Pineapple?

You receive three private hole cards instead of the two used in Texas hold'em. After the first three community cards appear, you discard one and play the remaining two.

How is Crazy Pineapple different from regular Pineapple poker?

Crazy Pineapple delays the discard until after the flop. In regular Pineapple, players usually discard one hole card before the flop is revealed.

Can Crazy Pineapple be played as a high-low game?

Yes, a high-low version is commonly called Crazy Pineapple Hi-Lo. It keeps the three-card deal and post-flop discard while splitting the pot between qualifying high and low hands.
