description David Barnhart Overview
David K. Barnhart is an American lexicographer whose work focuses especially on new words, new meanings and changing usage in English. He founded Lexik House in 1980 and, with his father Clarence Barnhart, edited The Barnhart Dictionary Companion, a quarterly publication that documented emerging vocabulary. Barnhart also wrote or compiled works including Neo-Words and The Barnhart New-Words Concordance, and has contributed to dictionary scholarship, language teaching and expert commentary on word usage.
