Dimorphodon macronyx was a pterosaur from the Early Jurassic whose fossils were discovered in the Lyme Regis area of Dorset, England. William Buckland formally described it in 1829, making it one of the earliest pterosaurs studied by paleontologists. It had a disproportionately large skull with differently shaped teeth, a long tail, and relatively short wings compared with many later pterosaurs, although interpretations of its lifestyle remain debated.
