description Dipleura Overview

Dipleura is an extinct genus of phacopid trilobites known especially from the Middle Devonian Hamilton Group of New York State. Fossils have also been reported from other Devonian regions, including France, Libya, and Colombia. Some specimens are large for Devonian trilobites, and the genus is of interest for preserving the segmented exoskeleton and visual structures of a marine arthropod.
