description Huntonia Overview

Huntonia is a Devonian phacopid trilobite genus associated with Oklahoma and surrounding parts of North America. It is recognized by a smoothly inflated glabella and large schizochroal eyes, features that help distinguish it within mid-Devonian phacopid material. The genus is also placed among asteropygine trilobites, a group known for varied cephalic and pygidial ornament. It is of interest to students of North American Devonian fossils.
