DR 21

description DR 21 Overview

DR 21 is a heavily obscured, massive star-forming region in the constellation Cygnus. It contains dense molecular material and is associated with a highly energetic molecular outflow produced during the formation of massive stars. Dust blocks much of its visible light, so astronomers study the region mainly through infrared and radio observations of its gas, dust, and embedded young stars.
