Easy as ABC

To solve an Easy as ABC puzzle, you must place specific letters inside a grid so that each letter appears exactly once per row and column. You use the clues provided on the outside edges of the grid, which tell you the first letter visible when looking inward from that specific direction.

While both are Latin-square puzzles requiring logic, Sudoku uses numbers 1-9 and relies on 3x3 box constraints. Easy as ABC uses a smaller set of letters and relies entirely on directional line-of-sight clues from the grid's edges.

In many Easy as ABC puzzles, the grid is larger than the number of letters you are given, resulting in blank cells. For example, if using a 5x5 grid with the letters A, B, and C, you will leave two spaces empty in every row and column.

This logic puzzle type is sometimes referred to as 'ABC Path' or 'Easy as ABC Endview' depending on the publisher. Regardless of the name, the core mechanic of identifying the first visible letter from the edge remains identical.
