El Paraiso

description El Paraiso Overview

El Paraíso is a large preceramic archaeological complex located in the Chillón Valley near Lima, Peru. Dating back to approximately 2000 to 1500 BCE, it is one of the earliest and largest monumental architectural sites in the Andean region. The site contains the remains of several large, U-shaped stone and adobe pyramids and domestic structures, indicating a complex, sedentary society that relied on both agriculture and maritime resources.
