Eudialyte

description Eudialyte Overview

Eudialyte is a red to pink cyclosilicate mineral associated with alkaline igneous rock complexes. Its complex chemistry commonly includes zirconium, sodium, calcium, and other elements, so individual specimens may vary in composition and color. Greenland is a major source of eudialyte for mineral collectors, and the mineral also occurs in alkaline complexes such as the Kola Peninsula. It is more often kept as a mineral or ornamental stone than cut as a transparent faceted gem.
