Fallotaspis

description Fallotaspis Overview

Fallotaspis is an extinct genus of redlichiid trilobites from the Early Cambrian. Fossils are known from Morocco and North America, and the genus is part of the early record of trilobite diversification soon after trilobites appear in Cambrian rocks. Its redlichiid anatomy, including a segmented thorax and calcified dorsal exoskeleton, makes it relevant to studies of early arthropod evolution and Cambrian biostratigraphy.
