Geragnostus

description Geragnostus Overview

Geragnostus is a genus of agnostid trilobites, an extinct group of small marine arthropods whose fossils are important in Cambrian and Ordovician biostratigraphy. The genus has been recorded from European fossil localities, including the Arenaceous Beds of the Shineton Shales Formation in England. As with other agnostids, its remains consist mainly of a cephalon and pygidium with a reduced body plan.
