Diplagnostus

description Diplagnostus Overview

Diplagnostus is an extinct genus of small agnostid trilobites, classified in the family Diplagnostidae. It is known mainly from Middle Cambrian marine strata, with named species and records reported from Scandinavia, Australia, Argentina, North Greenland, and other regions. Because agnostoid species commonly have restricted stratigraphic ranges, Diplagnostus occurrences are used with associated trilobites to compare and correlate Cambrian successions across different paleocontinents.
