description Micragnostus Overview
Micragnostus is an extinct genus of small agnostid trilobites in the family Agnostidae, named by Howell in 1935 with Agnostus calvus as its type species. It is recorded from Upper Cambrian strata in regions including Wales, Scandinavia, Australia, East and South Asia, and parts of the Americas, and its broad distribution has made it useful in intercontinental correlation. A diagnostic feature is a transverse glabellar furrow positioned well in front of the glabellar node.
