description Halti Overview

Halti is a fell in the Scandinavian Mountains on the border between Finland and Norway, in Finland's Lapland region. Finland's highest point, at about 1,324 metres above sea level, lies on the Finnish side of the border as a lower shoulder of the massif. The actual summit of Halti is higher, at about 1,365 metres, but it is in Norway. The site is therefore important in Finnish geography even though Finland does not contain the mountain's summit.
