Heisterbach Abbey was a Cistercian monastery in the Siebengebirge hills near Bonn, Germany, founded in 1202. Its large Gothic choir was completed in the 13th century and was one of the most ambitious church structures of its era in the Rhineland before it was largely demolished in 1803 under secularization. The preserved apse and surrounding ruins are maintained as a historical monument open to visitors.
