Hemavati

description Hemavati Overview

The Hemavati is a river in Karnataka, India, and an important tributary of the Kaveri. The Gorur Dam was built across the river near Hassan in 1979, creating a reservoir used for drinking water and irrigation in Hassan district. The river is therefore both a component of the Kaveri basin and a source managed for regional agriculture and public water supply.
